National competitiveness in Armenia is a serious challenge, Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan stated.
“We are obliged to establish a solid competition background to face and achieve relative advantages. It means that we should think globally, to realize what the main promoting power is in the modern world and to define Armenia’s role. The global crisis, on this background, notes the strong and weak points of the state and problems urging us to look for solutions,” he said addressing forum on competitiveness and economic growth.
According to him, the 21st century provides competition in the intellectual field. The states which pay more attention to knowledge, installing necessary scientific and research infrastructure, will win.
As for the cooperation between the private sector and the state, Sargsyan said that the National Competitiveness Council of Armenia (NCCA) is an example of applying the method. The agency should unite potential of the state and the private sector.
“Its goal is to use the Armenian potential not only in the our country but worldwide to raise the level of national competitiveness,” he said.
