An elderly woman's body has been found in Yerevan with traces of violence.

The body of Sirush Petrosyan, 1934, was found in Yerevan's Babajanyan street earlier today with her mouth, hands and feet tied with ropes. On arriving at the scene, the police found the apartment turned upside-down.

A forensic medical examination has been appointed to clarify the circumstances of the death. 

An investigation is underway.
