Winter conscription launches in Armenia

2016 winter conscription launches in Armenia on January 8. Armenian Defense Minister's Press Secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan informed “Armenpress” about the aforementioned writing: “2016 winter conscription starts today on the occasion of which I congratulate us all.”

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree on October 27 on the 2016 winter draft. By the decree, in November 2015 and
January 2016, Armenia’s male citizens, who have turned 18 until December 31 inclusive, will be conscripted for compulsory or alternative military service. The mentioned decision also refers to those citizens whose previously issued compulsory military service
deferment stopped until December 31, 2015 inclusive.
