"Haykakan Zhamanak": Ordering to dismantle the kiosks of Mashtots Park, Serzh Sargsyan came out of the scope of his authority.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, accompanied by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, visited Yerevan’s Mashtots Park on Tuesday.

The Armenian president ordered the kiosks to be removed from the park. Thus President Serzh Sargsyan turned the problem to his advantage.

With respect to the action being a planned one, nothing can be rule out given the fact the wife of Tigran Khzmalyan, one of the activists, appeared on the list of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

It should be noted that by ordering the removal of kiosks, the president went beyond his powers. “Yerevan is a community, with Taron Margaryan being community head. The president has no powers to deal with such issues,” Gagik Jhangiryan, Head of the Legal Assistance Center, opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC), told the newspaper.
