"Hraparak": Skirmish between the RPA and PAP reps in Masis city.
Armenian Press
The first gunshots, in connection with Sunday’s parliamentary elections in Armenia, were fired in Masis city, Hraparak daily writes.
“There is a very intensive campaign here between the representatives from the [ruling coalition’s senior member, the Republican Party of Armenia] RPA and the [coalition’s junior partner, Prosperous Armenia Party] PAP. The RPA’s [MP] candidate is former Nature Protection Minister Murad Muradyan, whereas the PAP’s nominee is the PAP’s serving MP, Tigran Stepanyan.
The tension grew so much that the two teams clashed with one another and fired shots at each other at Masis’ square.
The scene of the incident was surrounded by the police late in the evening, but the incident’s details could not be ascertained,” Hraparak writes.
