Tankian: Prompted by Erdogan, Aliyev took the bait

American-Armenian musician Serj Tankian, who is lead singer of the world-renowned American Armenian rock band System of a Down, wrote on his Facebook page.

"According to a White House readout, Mr. Biden “expressed concern about continued violence, called for dialogue, and emphasized the importance of a comprehensive settlement for the long-term stability, security and prosperity of the region” in his meetings with both leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan then immediately started a full scale attack on positions in Karabagh. Aliyev was unsuccessful at getting the OSCE and the U.S. to agree to excluding the leaders of Karabagh from the negotiating table. Prompted by Erdogan, seemingly to take away attention from the yearly Armenian Genocide commemorations on April 24 just around the corner, Aliyev took the bait. This is a complete rebuke to the Vice President and Secretary of State of the U.S. by Azerbaijan.
