2 killed, 6 injured in rare bus blast in Armenia’s capital

A large explosion hit a passenger bus in Yerevan’s Halabyan street on Monday night, leaving two people dead and six others injured.
The survivors were hospitalized immediately.
Тwo of them were teenagers aged 14 and 15 who were reported to have suffered multiple fractures. Minister of Health Armen Muradyan, who was at the hospital late on Monday, said they had been moved to an intensive care unit after a successful surgery.
Another hospitalized passenger was a pregnant woman whose life (as well as the life of the fetus) was reported to be out of danger as of 2:00am local time.
Another survivor, who was taken to the Health Ministry’s Center of Radiation Medicine and Burns, was discharged after receiving medical aid.
In a statement on Facebook, the Ministry of Health says that all the survivors are provided with the necessary medical supplies and medicines.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations was reported on the incident at 9:51 am local time.
A crowd of policemen headed to the scene together with Chief of Police, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan, Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan, Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan, Head of the Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan and Chief of Yerevan Police, Major-General Ashot Karapetyan.
In s statement released after midnight, the Prosecutor General’s Office said that they had launched a proceeding under Article 279.3 of Armenia’s Criminal Code (negiligently caused human death).
