Yerevan bus blast: field investigators find trotyl, SIM card at scene, owner identified

Armenia’s law-enforcers continue investigating the bus blast in Yerevan’s Halabyan street on Monday.
According to the preliminary data, ten people were in the bus – the driver and nine passengers. Two of the passengers died on the spot and seven were injured and taken to hospital.
The field investigators found a SIM card. The owner of the SIM card has been identified as a citizen of Armenia with two previous convictions. The law-enforcers found trotyl, explosive devices and various electrical devices in his flat.
Nine of the 10 passengers, as well as the seven survivors and one victim have been identified. All are reported to be citizens of Armenia. Police searches in their apartments revealed no suspicious items.
Investigative operations are under way to identify the owner of the SIM card, as well as the second victim.
The initial inquest revealed no evidence of a plotted terrorist acts. The probe continues.
