An employee of a hydroelectric power plant was swept away by river water in Ijeven (Armenia’s Tavush region) after strongholds collapsed during engineering activities.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations was reported at 00:42 that the man went missing after falling into the river Aghstev.
A task force which headed to the scene found out that a side blind wall (50cm X 50m) and a façade wall (1m X approx 8m) pulled down in the vicinities of the factory Betonit (Ijevan concrete factory).
The search and rescue activities along the river continued until 2:43 am, but the task force later had to stop due to the darkness.
At 7:33 in the morning, the rescuers, joined by 20 residents of the village Ditavan, resumed the search operations.
