"168 Zham": Vartan Oskanian as National Assembly chairman?
Armenian Press
The paper says the wave of complaint is growing inside the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) over the formation of possible coalition with the ruling Republican party.
The paper reminds that ex foreign minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanian said he will not take the responsibility of arrangements reached by the unreal coalition.
The paper earlier reported that number four in the PAP list, leader of the United Workers’ Party Gurgen Arsenyan is too against the formation of coalition. In reality the number of those against it is bigger and Oskanian is thinking of forming a separate team in the NA and is intensively working over it. According to the sources close to the PAP, Oskanian and Arsenian’s viewpoint are supported by Vahan Hovhannissyan, Hmayak Hovhannissyan and Elinar Vardanyan. If coalition is formed these five members will possibly pull out from the PAP faction without waiving their mandates though.
To prevent the possible separation in the faction, PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan offered President Serzh Sargsyan to appoint Vartan Oskanian as National Assembly chairman. Oskanian is said not to be against it.
