"Zhoghovurd": Republic party to decide today whether to stay in ANC or not.

The Republic party will decide at its extended sitting today whether it will remain in the Armenian National Congress (ANC) or pull out from the opposition bloc, Zhoghovurd daily writes.

Leader of the party Aram Sargsyan, number two in the ANC list, has waived his mandate, substantiating it with the disagreements in foreign and home policy issues.

Zhoghovurd paper though wrote today that the decision of the party is endangered as it has not conducted its congress since 2005. While the law demands convening congress once in two years.

Rafik Mkrtchyan refuted any legislative problems, saying; “we only have issues relating to political council members, but they will be solved during the congress.”
