The ruling Republican party is said to have finally decided to appoint ex speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan as chairman of the Armenian parliament. The sources of the paper also claim Samvel Nikoyan to be appointed parliament’s vice speaker. Abrahamyan and Nikoyan are said to be in extremely bad relations with Abrahamyan trying to do everything possible for the appointment of Galust Sahakyan instead. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan though insisted on Nikoyan’s candidacy while Galust Sahakyan will continue heading the Republican party’s faction. Eduard Sharmazanov, vice speaker, is said to become faction’s secretary.
