The paper says it has learned from sources that the Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) has finalized the list of its elected lawmakers and is going to submit it to the Central Election Commission (CEC) later today or tomorrow.
PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan was earlier reported to be conducting meetings with different candidates listed on the party’s proportional representation ballot (both those retaining their mandates and those pulling out of the list).
President of the Union of Political Analysts Hmayak Hovhannisyan appears the only person whose name is missing from what the paper calls the list of ‘rebels’. Tsarukyan is said to have met with him on Monday to explain a couple of things that reportedly left the expert sad. Citing its sources, the paper claims that Hovhannisyan was originally unwilling to write a notice on quitting the list, but was forced to do so under Tsarukyan’s pressure. As for the other ‘rebels’, Vahe Hovhannisyan has written a notice too, though he still remains on the list of future parliament members, at list for now, says the paper. The leader of the United Labor Party, Gurgen Arsenyan, and ex-Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanyan are also said not to have submitted notices so far. A former minister of culture Tamar Poghosyan is not expected to receive a mandate, the paper adds. Instead, Elinar Vardanyan, Vahan Babayan, Tigran Urikyanyan and Aragats Akhoyan will have seats in the new parliament, it says further.
