Citing sources close to the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), the paper claims that President Serzh Sargsyan has reached a final coalition agreement with the Prosperous Armenia leader, Gagik Tsarukyan.
Their meeting held at the Presidential Office on Wednesday was reportedly attended by Hovik Abrahamyan, who will presumably be appointed the speaker of the National Assembly, says the paper.
Later today, the RPA is organizing an executive board meeting to be conducted by the president, adds the paper. The document to be signed between the ruling party and its coalition partners in the previous parliament – Prosperous Armenia and Rule of Law – will reaffirm those political forces commitment to back Sargsyan in the upcoming presidential election, the paper comments further.
According to the publication, Tsarukyan seeks at least to have the incumbent prime minister, Tigran Sargsyan, replaced. The president, however, is said to have a resolute stand on the issue.
Citing further its “well-informed sources”, the paper says the premier will remain in office at least until the polls. Replacing the prime minister is possible only after the election provided, of course, the Republican manages to hold a victory, claims the paper.
