ARCHIVE
According to reliable sources, RPA-PAP coalition wasn’t formed because of the former president Robert Kocharyan. At the last minute, he didn’t allow PAP to take this step. After May 6 elections, before PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan announced about the party’s refusal to form a coalition with RPA on May 24, political majority was convinced that these two political powers will form coalition anyway. However, according to the daily, Tsarukayn gave way to Kocharyan’s pressures.
The daily wrote that Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting in Karabakh on May 9. According to our sources Kocharyan told Sargsyan, that he would not allow PAP to become a coalition member.
Vardan Oskanyan, PAP deputy, didn’t deny this information during an interview with the daily. Hearing the question he simply smiled ironically and didn’t reply.
