“Haykakan Zhamanak” Daily: Two Candidates for the Rector’s Post of YSLU after Brusov

Two applications were submitted to the Ministry of Science and Education for the post of rector of the Linguistic University after Brusov. One of the candidates is the temporarily acting rector Gayane Gasparyan and the other is Vagharshak Madoyan. Both of them are professors at the University. Madoyan is the former head of “Anania Shirakatsi” University.

“Haykakan Zhamanak” writes that before Gayane Gasparyan, Gabriel Balayan, the deputy rector was temporarily appointed to the post. Many were convinced that he will become the rector, since his father, Kim Balayan is a member of the Constitutional Court. However, his son does not correspond to the requirements presented to a rector candidate. A rector has to have a PhD of sciences, and Gabriel Balayan is a candidate of legal sciences.
