“Haykakan Zhamanak” Daily: Existence of Constitutional Court is Pointless

The Constitutional Court has officially recorded yesterday that while discussing the complaints in regard of elections, it abstains from considering the legitimacy of decisions by RA Administrative Court.

This was stated in the decision of Constitutional Court to turn down Samvel Harutyunyan’s appeal, a majoritarian candidate running in constituency # 37. The independent candidate Samvel Harutyunyan demanded from the Constitutional Court to recognize invalid the voting results of constituency #37, according to which RPA representative Hayk Grigoryan was elected single-mandate deputy. It appears, that if the candidate rights are violated and the latter applies to the Administrative Courta and his complaint is rejected without any grounds or even falsification, the Constitutional Court fully relies on this decision. Under these circumstances the existence of Constitutional Court becomes pointless.
