US Senate to Discuss Richard Morningstar’s Candidacy for Post of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan

On June 13, Committee on Foreign Relations of US Senate will discuss the candidacy of Richard Morningstar for the post of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, is stated on the official web page of the US Senate.

At the end of April, US President Barrack Obama nominated Richard Morningstar’s candidacy, a special representative of the US State Department in charge of Eurasian energetic issues, for the post of US Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

President nominated his candidacy in January, 2012, after the resignation of Mathew Braize. The post of the latter wasn’t approved by the Congress due to Armenian lobby and Senators’ resistance.
