“Konrad Adenauer” Foundation Retracts, Lurer.com Reminds

On June 12, Lurer.com posted an interview with one of the participants of the workshop on “Transforming Politics”, Hrayr Manukyan. The workshop took place in Tbilisi, on June 3-8. It was organized by “Konrad Adenauer” foundation.

“Konrad Adenauer” Foundation retracts certain provisions of the interview posted on Lurer.com website, which we present below. At the same time the editorial of the web-site urges the Armenian office of “Konrad Adenauer” Foundation to remain loyal to the mission of the foundation, which is based on human rights, freedom of speech and democratic values. We were surprised by way the representative of an organization which preaches freedom of speech worldwide, demanded to remove the interview from the website on the phone.

By rejecting this kind of conduct and remaining loyal to media rules, Lurer.com presents “Konrad Adenauer” text below.

“Konrad Adenauer” Foundation condemns the use of a photo of an event organized by the foundation without their permission. The above-mentioned event is aimed at integrating the representatives of youth elite to European political system, European values and goals in order to contribute to EU integration process. Content-wise the given interview does not correspond to the contents of the event.

We regret that our name was abused for personal interests and benefits.”
