Turkish Historian’s Call to Obama and Europe Concerning Armenian Genocide

Turkish historian, sociologist Taner Aqacham raised the issue of Armenian Genocide at an event devoted to Christian International Solidarity organized in Washington.
According to “Milliyet” online daily, Aqchman called US President and other European countries to recognize the tragic events of 1915 as Genocide and contribute that Turkey, taking example from Germany, finds courage to compensate for this crime to certain extent.
Let’s note that Taner Aqchman was among the first Turkish scientists to recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide. He settled in Germany in 1988 and started to conduct research on Armenian Genocide. He is the author of the book “Shameful Act. Armenian Genocide and the Issue of Turkish Responsibility.”
