Armenian Press
According to circulated rumors, last week in Artsakh Bako Sahakyan and Robert Kocharyan met, who had for quite long time spoken about the presidential elections in Artsakh. In the context of the same rumors, active discussions are taking place as though during the meeting Kocharyan said that these elections should be the most democratic in Artsakh and that all the political parties will endorse Sahakyan in a proper manner. Dashnaktsutyun is a resilient example.
In the meantime, there are rumors that Sedrakich has discussed with Bako the investment projects anticipated in Artsakh and pledged that this year more serious businessmen from Russia and US will enter Artsakh.
CHI attempted to receive clarifications in this regard from both sides. The latter neither denied nor confirmed these rumors. Robert Kocharyan’s spokesman Victor Soghomonyan said, “I don’t have information about this meeting. Moreover, Kocharyan has been outside Armenia for several days now but I will try to verify this information after his return.”
Bako Sahakyan’s spokesman Davit Babayan in his turn mentioned, “I cannot say whether such a meeting took place during this period but on May 9 Kocharyan was also among the high-rank officials present in Artsakh. And during that period they might have had a conversation about the upcoming presidential elections.”
