“Haykakan Zhamanak”: ANC, PAP, ARF and Heritage MPs Smashed Government Plan
Armenian Press
Yesterday a totally different environment was dominating in the parliament. And the main reason was perhaps the presence of the ANC MPs in the session hall. In the morning the parliament started to discuss the plan of the newly formed government. The whole government cabinet was present and almost no MPs were absent. The journalists, who normally get bored of following the parliament sessions from their stalls, yesterday carefully followed the session and stayed till the end. Yesterday after a long break of yawning MPs, who would press each other’s voting buttons, the new parliament conducted a political interesting discussion. The session hall, which would normally be full for about 30 minutes after the kickoff of sessions, yesterday remained full till the end of the working day – 6p.m. The MPs of the Congress, as well as the PAP, ARF and Heritage literally smashed the government plan. However, the discussion of the plan didn’t end yesterday. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan will undergo a tough day today as well. It’s assumed that the plan of the cabinet will be set for vote today. The activities of the parliament won’t end with that. After the voting of the government plan another extraordinary session will be summoned. And if it proceeds similarly intensively, it is not ruled out that the RPA won’t succeed in ending this session within a day either. Yesterday several Republicans would predict that they might work till next Monday.
