“Haykakan Zhamanak” Daily: RPA in Search of Regional Mayor

There was no discussion about the appointment of Gegharkunik regional mayor at RPA Executive Body Session. As the daily remindes RPA representatives used to claim that Rafik Grigoryan will be appointed Gegharkunik regional mayor. The latter, however, refused this post. Serious conditions were put forward for Grigoryan, i.e. to ensure high percentage of votes for Sezrh Sargsyan during presidential elections. Grigoryan, however is not confident that he can reach the desired outcome. RPA is in search of new regional mayor. Also, RPA used to claim a few weeks ago that the city mayor of Vayq will be appointed Vayots Dzor regional mayor. However, this appointment failed as well due to the abovementioned reasons. Yesterday, the Prime Minister appointed Edgar Ghazaryan, head of Jermuk territorial structure as Vayots Dzor regional mayor.
