“Zhoghovurd”: Population Decreased in Bagratashen Community

The number of population in the rural community of Bagratashen, which is bordered with Georgia, decreased by 200, and the number of pupils has decreased by half. Head of the community Arkadi Makyan informed “Zhoghovurd”, that in 2000 there were living 3500 people, but now their number is 3300.
During the last 12 years the number of schoolchildren has decreased by 102 pupils. Currently at the 2 schools of the community 395 pupils are studying instead of former 497. To the question, if there was any progress in the community, Makyan replied, “Like in all villages population migrates. It’s awful; this year 80-90 people have already gone abroad to work and three families moved to other countries to stay for good.”
