“Haykakan Zhamanak”: Hovhannes Tamamyan can be Released Soon

Former head of Police Department of RA Hovhannes Tamamyan, which has been sentenced to four years of imprisonment on charges of abusing power while in office, can be soon released.
It’s supposed that he’ll be released through pardon by the President. In this perspective Tamamyan’s attorney responded to the newspaper’s reporter, that he was not authorized to answer the questions concerning appealing petition for mercy.
According to the information of the newspaper Tamamyan’s petition for mercy is in the President’s residency for more than a week, and it’s expected that in the future Serzh Sargsyan will sign the appropriate decree and he’ll be released. But public won’t be informed about that as far as petitions for mercy aren’t published.
