Those Who are Against Convening NA Special Session Contribute to Maintaining Ruben Hayrapetyan’s Immunity

Our interviewee is “We demand punishment of the culprits of Harsnaqar incident” initiative member Arthur Minasyan.
-Today the initiative made an announcement which called the NA MPs to initiate NA Special Session. After a little while it became known that out-coalition parliamentary parties today start to gather signatures from MPs for convening a special session. What is the need for convening a special session?
- The question is that Ruben Hayrapetyan, the owner of “Harsnaqar”, after the incident under the pressure of civic wave of fury, was forced to announce about putting down his parliamentary mandate. But according to NA law, in order to finish the mandate-depriving process, it’s necessary to publicize Hayrapetyan’s application on a NA session. Since NA next session is going to take place only in September, in order to finish Hayrapetyan’s mandate-depriving process, it’s necessary to convene NA special session. Besides in NA special session a temporary committee may be organized for studying the details of the incident, which I consider necessary for providing the transparency and publicity of the processed criminal case concerning the incident.
- a little while ago The initiative announced in Facebook social network about organizing a protest in front of the NA at 1 pm tomorrow. What is the need for organizing a protest and which are its aims?
-Since NA out-coalition parties initiated the organizing of a special session, tomorrow in the NA the MPs must sign the corresponding project. According to the law, signatures of 1/3 of NA MPs , for convening a special session, is necessary. We are going to the NA to control the signing process of the project by the MPs. Every MP, political powere, civic initiative or an individual citizen who will not contribute to the process of convening a special session with his participation, may be viewed as an opponent to depriving Ruben Hayrapetyan from his mandate and immunity, with its consequences.

You know, that our initiative made an announcement which clearly states all our demands. Convening NA special session is only one of those, and we are going to be consistent in realizing the other demands.
