Government Restricted Security and Physical-Chemical Requirements of Brandy

RA Government decided to make changes in the decision of “Establishment of technical regulations of Armenian cognac and Armenian brandies” enacted in 2006.
Security and physical-chemical additional indicators of Armenian brandy and cognac alcohol will be restricted, and certain indicators will be brought in line with the accepted requirements of EU, RF and other countries of CIS.
According to the certificate submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Armenian brandies and cognac alcohols are the main types of products exported from Armenia.
Armenian brandy has a great reputation and demand in international market, which gives a great hope of increasing the export of brandy.
Therefore, with changes in technical regulations, uniform, internationally accepted standards are determined, which will contribute to the security of brandy, to the promotion of export, and to the protection of consumer interests.
