“Zhoghovurd”: Soldier on Hunger Strike

Soldier Suren Kirakosyan yesterday declared about timeless hunger strike. The newspaper was informed from Suren’s mother, Zvart Kirakosyan about this.
The newspaper reminds that, S.Kirakosyan on June, 2009 was drafted into the army with bad health condition; during his service he voluntarily left the military unit, for what he is accused of desertion. For this he was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment. And when he was arrested, he was on hunger strike for about 60 days demanding to cure him. Now he demands treatment in a civil hospital and revision of the criminal case. In an interview with “Zhoghovurd” lawyer of the arrestee Gayane Khachatryan said that verdict was appealed in RA Court of Criminal Appeals. The trial is scheduled for July 27.
