IRI Majlis Legal Committee stated that a draft law was put into circulation, according to which the minimum marriage age for girls will be lowered from 13 years old to 9. One of the Christian periodicals In Iran - mohabatnews.com reports.
It should be noted that the minimum marriage age for girls was 16 until the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979. After the revolution it was lowered to 13 years old.
