“Hraparak”: 2-3 percent of those who Came from Syria Expressed the Wish to Stay in Armenia

These days more than 120 Syrian-Armenian have visited the Ministry of Diaspora. 12 of them expressed the wish to receive shelter and were sent to migration service.
According to head of group dealing with Syrian-Armenians Firus Zakaryan, these days our compatriots which came from Syria are divided into three groups. To one group belong people which come to the homeland on vacation. This year they are comparatively more. The other part arrives to get dual citizenship. Only in 2012 the Ministry of Diaspora received about 3 thousand applications on dual citizenship. The third group is immigrants of the Syrian conflict.
The majority of them has the intention to go back and comes here to wait until the situation stabilizes. Only 2-3 percent of those, who came from Syria express wish to stay in Armenia. In the future the Ministry of Diaspora is going to bring children from Syria and organize their vacation.
