“Zhoghovurd”: Gas Price Raise is Unavoidable
Armenian Press
After the meeting with RF President Vladimir Putin, Serzh Sargsyan indirectly confessed that he failed to prevent raise of gas price.
“Today we spoke on a very important issue – price of natural gas supplied to Armenia. I think we reached to mutual understanding in development of its principles. It should arise from actual market price of gas, multiplied and divided, as you wish, correlating need of natural gas in Armenia with regional prices, preserving productiveness of economics in Armenia”, said he.
The newspaper notices, that S.Sargsyan is speaking of actual market price of gas, which is higher, than the price of gas which is currently supplied to Armenia. This means, that gas price raise is unavoidable. To note, beginning from 1990s until this day Armenia bought gas from RF not with actual market price, but with the price decided by bilateral agreement, which was lower than the market price.
By the way, Moskovian sources inform the newspaper, that at yesterday’s meeting Sargsyan and Putin didn’t reach to final agreement on gas price.
