Armenia Intends to Open Embassy in Indonesia

Armenia’s Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian arrived on a visit to Indonesia on August 8. On the same day he met with his Indonesian counterpart Marty Natalegawa.
Minister Nalbandian said the visit marks 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Indonesia. The main goal of his visit is to come to arrangement to develop multilateral cooperation.
Foreign Minister informed about Armenia’s intention to open embassy in Jakarta “which will give a new impetus to bilateral relations”. In his turn Natalegawa promised his government’s support.
The sides agreed to develop bilateral ties and intensify contacts within the international agencies. They touched upon the regional and international problems.
Minister Nalbandian held a meeting with Economic Minister Mohammed Hatta to discuss promoting of trade and economic relationship.
On the same day the Edward Nalbandian left for New Zealand where he would meet with Foreign Minister Murray McCully.
