The Armenian Alpinist is Saved: He is already in the Rescue Camp
Emergency Case
Today, at about 19.30, due to the joint efforts and high level cooperation of RA MES and the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgian MIA, Andranik Miribyan, the Armenian alpinist, who was on mount Ushba, crossed the most dangerous part of the mountain peak, and joined the rescue camp, MES reports.
Armenian and Georgian joint forces carried out a complicated rescue operation, as a result of which the alpinist was able to overcome the road and finally approach the rescuers. Until that, the Georgian rescue helicopter had tried to approach him for four times, but because of bad weather conditions, it had not been able to approach the mountaineer.
Now A. Miribyan is at the rescue camp located at the foot of the mountain and is quite safe and healthy. After getting some rest and recovering strength, tomorrow he will descend from the foot of the mountain together with the rescuers.
