Strong Earthquakes are not Expected in Armenia: MES

The rumors , that a strong earthquake is expected in Armenia, do not correspond to reality and such a threat is not is not expected in the future,- MES assured Lurer.com.

"We urge people to remain calm and not to pay attention to the false rumors spread by the panicked people. Until now, no scientist, no seismic service in the world can make a short-term prediction, meaning, to precisely tell the time of the earthquake, the place and intensity," MES reports.
To reminds you, 2 days ago an earthquake has been recorded in the north-west of Iran, near the Armenian border, 64 km east of Tabriz and 26 km south from Tabriz. The coordinates are, 38.24 N; 47.00 E.
The hypocenter of the earthquake was 15 km deep. The intensity of the earthquake amounted to 9 points in the epicenter zone. The earthquake was has been recorded as well in the territory of RA, in towns of Agarak, Meghri, Kadjaran, Kapan, Goris - 4-5 magnitude, and in Yerevan city- 3-4.
After-shakes occurred at 16.54 pm and 17.19 pm, respectively with 5.9 and 5.5 magnitude.
