Cases of military service evasion significantly decreased

23 cases of violence against a government representative have been recorded in January-June 2012 (32 in 2011). All the 16 individuals, given trial by the court, have been sentenced to imprisonment in 2012.
139 cases of hooliganism have been recorded during the same period last year, the number of cases has been reduced by 95 or 40,6% compared to the 234 of the previous year. The number of cases of armed hooliganism has been reduced by 8 or 26.7 % (30-22).
Such a sharp decrease in hooliganism has been explained by the legal position of the Court of Appeals concerning the case of Sh. Hakhverdyan (March 30, 2012) and by the concern demonstrated for it, in a recent session of RA General Prosecutor's Office.
A significant decrease has also been recorded in cases of military service evasion, which, as well, is a positive indicator. There is a similar tendency also in cases of illegal drug circulation. Thus, comared to the same period of the previous year, the cases of illegal drug circulation have been reduced by 296 or 34%, and the cases of drug sales have been reduced by 204, or 42%.
319 persons have faced a legal charge in the last 6 months, 18 of which were women, 1 was juvenile, 11 – foreign citizens, 64 - previously convicted. By the way, 94 of the 319 people, who have been subjected to criminal liability, have been accused in drug sales. The 62.4 % of the convicted were 30-49 years old.
