Representatives of UN Security Council's permanent members, Arabic countries and Turkey to discuss the situation in Syria

Today the meeting of representatives of UN Security Council's five permanent members, a number of Arabic countries and Turkey will take place at UN Headquarters, New York. The sides will discuss the further steps of the international community, concerning the situation in Syria,- Radio Cvoboda reports.
Note, that yesterday the Security Council decided to call back the international observers sent to Syria in spring. The last observers will leave Damascus on August 24. And Edmond Mulet, the deputy chief of the UN Peacekeeping Forces announced in Thursday that the Syrian government and the rebels “have chosen war”.
It should be noted that on Thursday it became known that Algerian diplomat, 78-year-old Lakhdar Brahimi agreed to replace Kofi Annan in the position of Special Envoy to Syria, starting from September 1.
