30 cities over the world to support Pussy Riot

In New York, London, Vilnius and about 30 cities over the world protests will be held in defense of Pussy Riot. On the day of the verdict lots of groups will go out to the streets. At the same time, in New York and Nice the protests are planned not in front of Russian embassy, but in front of orthodox churches connected with Moscow Patriarchy.
“Simultaneously a few events will take place in New York. Everything will start at the church, where a play will begin and actors will read texts from Pussy Riot’s lawsuit,” said head of International Foundation for Civil Liberties, public figure Alexander Goldfarb. A likewise event will take place in London, reports Interfax agency.
Alexander Goldfarb hopes, that today the verdict will be announced on Pussy Riot girls’ case, lots of people will gather in front of the court.
To note, Pussy Riot punk band’s three members – Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alyokhina, Yekaterina Samutsevich are accused of Article 213, part 2 of RF Criminal Code – “hooliganism”, for singing “Virgin, proscribe Putin” in Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow. The maximum penalty is 7 years of imprisonment.
