Sergei Chalyan’s resignation not connected with Seyran Ohanyan: MD spokesman

Armenia’s MD spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan at today’s press conference didn’t exclude changes in Armenia’s military service levy system.
“We know the current system is inherited from soviet period and very often the system doesn’t justify itself,” stated the spokesman.
Artsrun Hovhannisyan doesn’t deny the fact, that there are suicides in army, law violations, but in general decrease of incident indicators is noticed, which is realized through consistent and hard work. For example, work is carried with soldiers by psychologists, commanders and cultural figures, film watchin, friendly and other events are held. He also stated that levy mechanism is becoming stricter year after year.
MD spokesman denied the circulating news that Chalyan’s resignation is connected with personal relations with MD Seyran Ohanyan.
To note, recently Major-General Sergei Chalyan was dismissed from the position of RA military commissar’s position by the President’s signature.
