The gypsum and stone mines in Paraqiar village, Armavir region, rise discontent of the residents. People complain, as walls of their apartments got lots of cracks and holes during the last months. The dust caused by explosion became a real pest for the residents, which complain of the coming and already existing health problems:
“If dust is on the cradle, it can also appear in the lungs of the child, we can’t open a window, the dust chokes us”, says one of the residents. They are convinced that the situation is the result of mine explosions, which can entail more serious problems.
Residents of Paraqiar sent a letter of complaint to the regional governor, to the PM and to the President, but everything is in vain.
In this connection residents want to familiarize with the document of allowance of operating permit of the two mines and draw the attention of Nature Protection, Health and Emergency Situation Ministries to this important issue.
Recently Paraqiar residents assured that the Ministry of Nature Protection is responsible for the permit of production, and it was confirmed by them that everything is done within the norm and it’s not dangerous for their health and security. But in the video it’s clearly seen that it causes financial, health and moral damages.
