Georgia should immediately start dialogue with Russian government, said the former President of Georgia, Eduard Shevardnadze.
In an interview with Asaval Dasavali newspaper Shevardnadze stressed the vital importance of the normalization of bilateral relations, calling Tbilisi to do the best for it. "If Mikhail Saakashvili’s resignation is necessary in setting relations with Russia, then he should resign," said the former president of Georgia.
Just recently Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili announced, that his resignation from the position of President won’t solve Georgian problems with Russian Federation. He considers incorrect the statements of some politicians that the problems between the two countries are the result of personal relations of Vladimir Putin and Mikheil Saakashvili.
Saakashvili stated, that “Moscow had problems with Tbilisi in presence of all Georgian Presidents, since Georgia’s aspiration to NATO and to the establishment of independence is unacceptable for Moscow.
