Car accident on Sevan-Ijevan highway

On August 22, at 1.18 am information was received that road accident had occurred at the Sevan-Ijevan Highway and there are casualties and injuries.
A firefighting squad was dispatched to the scene.
It was found out that a BMW—driven by Vanadzor city resident Argishti Sardaryan, 29—had gone off road, for yet unknown reasons, and slammed into the front wall of a tunnel. As a result, passengers Armen Gevorgyan, 37, and A. Sardaryan died on the spot.
But prior to the rescuers’ arrival at the scene, the other passengers, namely, 19-year-old Ararat Harutyunyan and Karen Gevorgyan—both of whom had sustained injuries—were transferred to Sevan city’s Central Hospital. At 1.55 am the rescuers removed A. Gevorgyan’s dead body from the vehicle. Doctors say the patients are in satisfactory condition.
