TV and radio broadcasting digitalization since 2015

The Armenian cabinet approved at its Thursday meeting the proposed requirements for digitalizing television and radio broadcasting services. Introducing the project, Minister of Transport and Communication Andranik Aleksanyan said that a special commission expected to undertake the digitalization has held consultations with all companies, taking into consideration their proposals.

PM Tigran Sargsyan said in his speech a technical plan elaborated by specialist establishes all the technical requirements for organizing a digitalization contest. “With this decision today, we confirm those technical requirements and invite all relevant companies to participate [in the contest], committing themselves to the digitalization of our television,” he said. The premier added that Armenia is obliged, under an agreement with the European Union, the digitalize the TV and radio broadcasting network until 2015.
