Ruben Hayrapetyan: I'm not an MP
Political
Recently, RA media actively circulates the rumor, that in Avan district of Yerevan, some individuals and groups collect signatures in order to keep Ruben Hayrapetyan from MP resignation.
In particular, Haykakan Zhamanak daily newspaper wrote, that it has checked, the rumors have confirmed, and the signature collecting is getting a new strength. "The text, which must collect as many signatures as possible, is very similar to the letter that was signed by some “intellectuals” a few weeks ago. That is, Ruben Hayrapetyan is asked to take back his request of putting down the mandate from the NA President, since the nation has “elected him, trusts…” and similar blah- blahs,” the newspaper reported.
In order to address some questions, Lurer.com called Ruben Hayrapetyan. We were to ask in particular “Are you familiar with the actions related to your name and with the press release on those? What measures are you initiating, if you are, towards stopping that processes against your decision of MP resignation” and so on.
At first, in response to our question, whether we can ask him a few questions or not, Ruben Hayrapetyan said, that he doesn’t answer to any questions on the phone. Replying to our "Very well, name the format, so to talk in," proposal, he answered as “Call my press speaker”. And in response to the question “The speaker of your what position Mr. Hovhannisyan? I want to address you a question as an MP” he replied as “I’m not an MP”.
Though we are against sophisticating people with questions, including ones involved in politics, but we honestly wanted to have an articulate talk with Mr. Hayrapetyan. The few questions, intended to make Ruben Hayrapetyan’s words more clear to us and our readers, were interrupted by the following expression: “I’m not a directory bureau.”
It probably seemed to Mr. Hayrapetyan, that the “directory bureau” is us, because he suddenly asked: “Who is your boss?” . “Medias don’t have bosses, you probably meant the editor?”, we tried to correct, but Hayrapetyan immediately interrupted the call.
Taking into account the sad consequences of our partners’ attempts to call Ruben Hayrapetyan for multiple times, we didn’t call anymore.
