Gagik Tsarukyan’s unexpected decision

As Lurer.com reported before, candidate nomination process of local self-government elections on September 23 in Kotayk Region was over on August 24.
Four candidates have been nominated in Abovyan City – current mayor Karapet Guloyan nominated by PAP self-nominated PAP member Karapet Israelyan, non-party Artashes Mehrabyan and Andranik Petrosyan.
Note, Karapet Guloyan is PAP head Gagik Tsarukyan’s son-in-law, and Karapet Israyelyan is the former Abovyan City mayor. Both candidates are PAP members and Gagik Tsarukyan’s friends.
According to the information of Lurer.com, decision of nomination of both candidates has been made by Gagik Tsarukyan, and that Karapet Israyelyan is also going to take part in elections, and if people are content with the former mayor, he’ll win regardless the fact that the current mayor is his son-in-law.
According to another source, Karapet Israyelyan has been nominated independently, trying to convince Baghramyan 26 to support him and that Israyelyan has big chances to become a mayor. But not receiving President’s approval, he tries to settle with Gagik Tsarukyan, which didn’t want to meet former mayor announcing “let the most powerful win.”
