According to the data of the commission engaged in Prisoners of war, hostages and the disappeared, The number of the disappeared from Armenia, in the result of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, exceeds 200. During the war that number amounts to 1000 from our Republic and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Note that in Armenia the Remembrance Day of the Disappeared is celebrated twice: on June 29, as Memorial Day of disappeared soldiers, and on August 30.
Meetings and other events held in a number of countries (such as Lebanon, Nepal, East Timor and Armenia) on August 30, help to keep alive the memory of those who are still missing.
