Galust Sahakyan: that flight is not to be realized by us

Below is Lurer.com’s interview with RPA vice-president Galust Sahakyan.

Mr Sahakyan, the society’s complaint from Republican government is obvious, different political forces touch upon this every day and demand to dismiss PM. What’s your attitude towards the criticism?
I consider natural the Governments criticism, even though it’s not accepted that they criticize when 5% economical growth is observed.
Don’t you think that it’s not correct to touch upon economical growth continually in conditions of hard living? Why don’t people notice that growth in their daily life or perceive it very slowly? Why do the Armenians speak with envy of post-soviet Georgia like us, for example.
There is no need to compare Armenia with other countries, as our nation is still at war, it has no ways, it has migration problem from Arabic countries and etc. In these conditions economical growth can’t influence at once on life of each society member. But I agree that it’s none of a business of a simple citizen. On the other hand, the society itself doesn’t support to the solution of the problem. Look, they say, it’s corruption, but didn’t ever come across with the fact that someone personally confesses on giving bribe, despite he could have given for sure. The society doesn’t participate in fight against corruption and wants some supernatural power to remove it instead of him. Thus, it’s easy to criticize the Government and more difficult to do anything.
So what’s the solution?
If there weren’t the force majeure situations (world fiscal crisis), it’d have been much easier, we’d have had 14% growth. We were in rather good state in 2007, then because of the above mentioned procedure the positive procedure began to weaken. I see, it doesn’t interest people, but the fact that he leads a bad life. The Republican is well aware that it’s needed to develop economy and I think some positive signals will be observed in 2013 budget, tended to change social state. But loss of people’s faith also hinders, the society doesn’t believe in anything good to happen.
Can you tell, why? Have you analyzed why the society lost hope for positive changes?
Because there used to be time, when it believed that a country can be kept by Jermuk, and they sold all the savings because of that romantic hope. But it can’t be so: a whole system has collapsed and nation should carry its consequences on it, unfortunately it couldn’t have been in other way. For example, who makes that a brother plotted against a brother or a neighbor against a neighbor? It’s only out of society’s lack of faith.
In other words a Republican doesn’t see any reason to change the Government and the PM that’s why it doesn’t respond to such demands?
Government can be blamed, but not announced guilty. Do you remember Arshak Sadoyan speaking of holes? We have filled those “holes”. A flight is needed, but this flight is not to be realized by us. On the other hand, I hardly memorize a case when a new PM is appointed and his dismissal weren’t touched upon after a month. This is an Armenian scenario. But the society should realize that it won’t get any basis by dismissing the PM or the Government: Karabakh conflict won’t be solved, new ways won’t appear, we won’t have a sea. Until the 1930s the USA didn’t have anything, but as far as it had gigantic resources, water exits, very quickly became what it’s now. We don’t have all these and it’s not by dismissal of PM or Government that the state should improve, only time is needed.
