Support to the entire Armenian nation and Armenia. Hungarian Cardinal

On September 1, Peter Erdo, the spiritual leader of Hungary, the head of Hungarian Catholic Bishops Conference, expressed support to the Armenian nation, in his letter addressed to His Holiness Garegin II Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, concerning the Hungarian authorities’ handing of Ramil Safarov, officer of Azerbaijani Armed Forces, and Azerbaijani president’s pardon to him.
Hungary Catholic Bishops Conference Cardinal Erdo also condemned the violence and hatred on the grounds of ethnic origin, asking the Heavenly God to protect the entire Armenian nation and bless with grants of justice and peace.
Responding to the call of Mother See of Holy Ejmiatsin, Doctor Olav Tveit, Secretary General of the Council, expressed his resentment concerning this painful incident, to the Hungarian authorities, on behalf of the World Church Council and 349 member Churches. Referring to the worrisome steps of Hungary and Azerbaijan, WCC condemned all the actions, that flagrantly disrupt the peace and justice in the region.
