What we are to face if Safarovs’ company enters Yerevan

“Ramil Safarov will become a participant of anti-Armenian hysteria, will wander around the schools, will meet children, will begin to tell that scoundrel, villain occupant Armenians should be treated like that and settle matters that way.” In an interview with Lurer.com reporter, political activist Armen Hovhannisyan touching upon the decree signed by Azerbaijan’s President, by which he pardoned Azerbaijan’s officer Ramil Safarov, which in 2004 axed Armenia’s officer Gurgen Margaryan in Budepest.
“There is no surprise for me here. It’s just incomprehensible position of Armenia’s MFA, as our officer was killed, our citizen, Armenian. Why there wasn’t any cross process, a demand that he stayed in Hungary, as it was obvious that he wasn’t going to serve his sentence in Azerbaijan? What was MFA doing that it didn’t undertake anything to prohibit the extradition? Our behavior is a shame.”
Azerbaijan’s policy is a clear history to us: we know with whom we deal with. Let the peace-lovers know who is the hero of our neighbor country, with which ideals it grows its children and what is expected to us if Safarovs’ one company enters Yerevan,” Armen Hovhannisyan said.
To the question what the Armenia’s position should be Armen Hovhannisyan replied: “As always we are in the role of reaching after someone, we should show the whole world who is the hero of that nation and for what he is being made a hero. A murderer is declared a hero for axing a man at night at a joint lesson. We, can for sure dispatch this information to world public, but we need to think before that. If we knew Azerbaijan started such a procedure we should have begun the contrary process.”
