When reason wins emotions
Armenia
Although in the last hours Hungary and Azerbaijan are trying to deny the fact of handing over Safarov in the result of transaction, but those attempts are less effective and inconclusive. Also because there is a need to explain why the Hungarian authorities remembered the international conventions on extradition, only when state bonds of that country are put up for sale. Secondly, because Hungary’s unfavorable financial situation is well known, and so on.
Is Armenia able to prevent that transaction or the convention? I think not. If we take into account that Hungary handed over purely because of financial coercion, then it is obvious that the only opportunity for Armenia to prevent is to propose more money than Azerbaijan. Thus, that would be matter of not only adequate, but also excessive and definitely financial proposal. Even if Armenia had the money and made a more profitable proposal instead of receiving legendary accusation of not holding the dirty hand, it should not have done, guessing the advantages in case of speculating that transaction.
Even some Russian analysts have observed, that Armenia can reap extraordinary dividends from Aliyev’s this unwise move. Here, E. Nalbandyan has already poured so much invective on Azerbaijan in the meeting of Co-Chairs of Minsk group held in Paris, that it seems, Safarov’s this extradiction is yet to be an endless source in shadowing Azerbaijan. Which respectful diplomat would refuse the gift delivered on a tray, that Armenia should’ve?
Of course, I do not think Armenian government could in any way prevent Hungary-Azerbaijan deal: first because they only had information about the transaction, and only by hearing and without having facts at hand, raising noise would be extremely light-minded. The 2nd one was already talked above.
But now, I think silencing Armenia is going to be hard; Azerbaijan’s President presented it a card, it did! Foreign Minister Nalbandian’s ironic expression is the proof: "Azerbaijan is a serious threat to regional peace and security."
This is our victory, no doubt.
