“Haykakan Zhamanak”: Levon Ter-Petrosyan not to demand money compensation

There is no money demand in the application of RA first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan to the Europe Court of Human Rights – RA first President’s barrister in EU Vahe Grigoryan told the newspaper reporter.
According to the barrister he presented to the first President that in general European Court satisfies moral and material compensation claims, but the only demand of the first President was recognition of law violation fact enshrined by the Convention of Human Rights, undertaken by Armenia.
“Recognition of violation of Convention rights is just and satisfactory compensation for the fist President,” Barrister told the newspaper.
The above mentioned application was presented to EU Court in August, 2008. Discussion of application began in the May of this year. It’s not excluded that the verdict will be pronounced before presidential elections in February.
